Ava's 9 months!

I can't believe she is already 9 months old, I took pictures of her when she was in mommy's belly!!! She is soo cute and has the prettiest blue eyes and the cutest curl ever. I've picked my favorites and I'm here to share.

Jaime and Ryan

Today I shot Jaime and Ryan's engagement photos, they were troopers and we took photos in 20 degree weather in downtown Des Moines, and even took their coats off! The pictures turned out great...here are just a few (yeah right) of my favorites. Can't wait until their wedding in May!

Finally...

Hey All, Yeah so it's been a while, with the holidays and going back to work I haven't been quite as busy. Plus, wow...it's cold here and I don't feel like making clients freeze their heiny's off outside, plus quite frankily I'd have to charge a whole lot more. But, I can still shoot indoors, we just have to do it in your home...wish I had the studio space, but all in good time. Anywho, I do have a reason for this post other than me babbling, we were finally able to get a family shot, notice the singular..cuz only 1 shot actually turned out, but I turned one black and white to make it appear like a different shot, I was able to get a nice shot of Daddy and Landen together...we'll shoot another time soon, cuz I still want one in front of our fireplace with all the Christmas decor. Yay Landen is 3 months, oh goodness where has the time gone!

Christmas is ALMOST here.

It's time to start thinking about holiday cards and pictures. I am offering a holiday special of $75 for an hour session and a disc (normally $100 value) Even though it's cold we can still do photos!!! Emily's 6 months!

Emily is only 3 months older than Landen, Emily's mamma and I went to High School together and I was given the pleasure of taking pictures of this little ham, she was camera shy until her Grandpa and Daddy showed up then we had lots of smiles and squeels.

What a weekend.

So, we've officially had our first snow, it's gone now..it barely stuck to the ground and by morning it was all gone...but it's still really freaking cold outside. Yesterday I had a scheduled shoot for 9:30am, I went and loaded everything into my car and started the vehicle to get the engine warm (like a good girl) well then when I went to leave, about 10 min. later....the doors were locked. Yeah....what kind of car locks on it's own, I have no idea, but apparently it's happened to my husband before too. Well, of course we didn't have a spare, so I had to reschedule the shoot for today...eventually we were able to get a key cut at a dealership, but it sure made for an annoying happening and definitely won't happen again. So I shot the McCauley's today instead of yesterday, we got some great shots and I'm here to share! Sam (the 2 year old) is going through a no, no, no phase and he doesn't like to be around his sister too much, so we had a difficult time but still had a fun time.

It snowed!

Today was the first snow, I didn't take pics, it wasn't sticking to the ground until right around the time it got dark, but Landen and I did venture out into the mess, and he wore his snow hat for the first time. I've of course taken pics to share!






I also realized, as I was adding pictures to the galleries on my website, I take too many pictures vertically and I really need to start shooting more horizontal, I don't know why but I'm always drawn to vertical photos, haha...I need to venture out of my comfort zone more, I'm also trying to shoot with natural light a little more.
